Acting Classes

What have the following got in common - Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson, Gillian Taylforth, Phil Daniels, Kathy Burke, Jake Wood, Reggie Yates, Brook Kinsella etc etc? They all trained at The Anna Scher Theatre (AST)

AST began as a school's drama club in Islington in January 1968, developed into a children's theatre and further evolved into a community theatre. Improvisation is the staple combining community spirit with professionalism (defininition of professionalism - delivering the goods on time, making no excuses). AST's Method is about addressing conflict resolution through effective communication skills (posture and balance, projection, diction, listening with eye contact and a friendly tone of voice) role reversal, olive branching ( accept, acknowledge, apologise, appreciate, amend) notice compliments and the pebble in the pond philosophy.

AST aims to develop talent to a high professional standard, to encourage a genorous spirit and to instill lifetime learning.
